U.S. firearms demand data, monthly, January 2000 to February 2021, by state by firearms type. Updated monthly. There are four blocks of data columns. The first block is total firearms demand by state. The second block is handgun demand by state. The third block is long-gun demand by state. And the fourth block is “all other” firearms by state. These are approximations made by Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting (SAAF) based on certain adjustments to raw data provided by the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System’s data. Our numeric data are to be handled confidentially, for purely internal use only, and not to be disclosed to outside parties in any way, electronic or otherwise.
